Regular Season Round 9: Petrolina AEK - ENAD 84-37

No shocking result in a game in Larnaca where fourth ranked Petrolina AEK (6-3) smashed 7th ranked ENAD (1-8) 84-37. The game without a history. Petrolina AEK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ENAD to just 6 points in first quarter. Petrolina AEK dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to ENAD's 24. Petrolina AEK forced 35 ENAD turnovers and outrebounded them 49-36 including a 24-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by ENAD's players. It was a good game for American guard Erika Sisk (175-94, college: Mississippi) who led her team to a victory with 27 points and 8 steals. Guard Yiota Stylianou (172-81) contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Petrolina AEK's coach Michalis Michael felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Charalambia Kalianou (170-99) answered with 17 points and point guard Constantina Kouzali (170-95) added 2 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for ENAD. Petrolina AEK moved-up to third place, which they share with Apoel. ENAD at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Petrolina AEK will play against Aris (#6) in Limassol in the next round. ENAD's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nicosia Keravnos.
