Regular Season Round 13: ZTE NKK - Miskolc 80-71

Date: January 6, 2019
The game between Top Four teams took place in Zalaegerszeg. Third ranked host ZTE NKK (9-3) defeated their biggest opponent Miskolc (9-3) 80-71. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Miskolc. ZTE NKK made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. 31 personal fouls committed by Miskolc helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Dutch forward Janis Ndiba (183-97) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and the former international center Dora Horti (193-87) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: ProDep Management) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (180-96, college: Maryland) scored 18 points (made all of her seven free throws). Miskolc's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ZTE NKK have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Atomeromu and Miskolc. ZTE NKK is looking forward to face Cegledi EKK (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Miskolc will play against the league's leader Sopron Basket (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
