Regular Season Round 12: Keravnos - Apoel 74-87

An interesting game for Apoel (8-3) which played road game in Strovolos against second-best Keravnos (8-4). Third ranked Apoel managed to get a 13-point victory 87-74. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Keravnos was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 42-27 second half run of Apoel. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Justin Jackson (204-90, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) who added 24 points during the contest. Four Apoel players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Darral Willis (206-96, college: Wichita St.) with 24 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Apoel have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with AEK Larnaca. Keravnos at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. Apoel will play against AEL (#5) in Limassol in the next round. Keravnos will play on the road against E.N. Paralimni and hopes to get back on the winning track.
