Eighth-ranked Neftekhimik T. (8-11) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Runa Basket (14-5) in Tobolsk on Saturday. The visitors from Moscow managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Neftekhimik T.. It was a good game for point guard Alexander Korchagin (188-88) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Swingman Grigoriy Andreev (193-90) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Dmitriy Ezhov (207-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and forward Maksim Pylaev (196-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 24 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Neftekhimik T.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Runa Basket have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain third place with 14-5 record having just three points less than leader Dyn-Magn.ChL. Neftekhimik T. at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Runa Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Neftekhimik T. will play again at home against Runa Basket (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
