Regular Season Round 19: Unics-2 - Khimki-2 57-73

An interesting game for Khimki-2 (17-6) which played road game in Kazan against 4th placed Unics-2 (15-8). Third ranked Khimki-2 had an easy win 73-57. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Unics-2. The game without a history. Khimki-2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Unics-2 43-28 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Unics-2 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for center Sergey Klyuev (205-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Ivan Evstigneev (194-99) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Khimki-2 players scored in double figures. At the losing side Artem Ivanov (193-98) responded with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Kiril Poponin (198-98) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimki-2 keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Lokomotiv-2. Unics-2 at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Khimki-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Unics-2 will play again at home against the league's second-placed Khimki-2 (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
