Superleague top team - Vostok-65 (15-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Burevestnik (9-9) in Yaroslav 101-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Burevestnik. Burevestnik was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of American point guard Kwamain Mitchell (183-89, college: St.Louis) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and guard Aleksey Golyahov (190-84) who added 19 points during the contest. Four Vostok-65 players scored in double figures. American guard Jimmy Gavin (191-91, college: Winthrop) responded with 23 points and 7 assists and power forward Andrey Chernysh (212-90) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Burevestnik's coach Mikhail Terekhov rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vostok-65 have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Vostok-65 maintains first position with 15-3 record. Burevestnik at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Khimky-Podmos. and Uralmash. Vostok-65 will play against Khimky-Podmoskoye (#9) in Khimki in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Burevestnik will play at home against Spartak-Prim. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
