Regular Season Round 23: Dynamo-MGTU - Arsenal 111-98

We should mention about the upset which took place in Maykop, where higher ranked Arsenal (10-8) lost to tenth ranked Dynamo-MGTU (7-12) in a road game 98-111 on Wednesday. Dynamo-MGTU dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Arsenal's 40. It was a great shooting night for Dynamo-MGTU especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 73.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Ukrainian center Nikolay Eremin (205-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Artem Gaposhin (184-91) helped adding 25 points and 9 assists. Artem Popov (205-93) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Aleksandr Olenev (205-93) scored 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Dynamo-MGTU and four Arsenal players scored in double figures. Arsenal's coach Viktor Uskov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dynamo-MGTU maintains tenth place with 7-12 record, which they share with AltajBasket. Loser Arsenal keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Dynamo-MGTU will again meet at home higher ranked Arsenal (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Arsenal will have a break next round.
