Regular Season Round 23: Uralmash - CSKA 2 63-60

A very interesting game took place in Ekaterinburg. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 12th ranked CSKA 2 (7-14) to ninth ranked Uralmash (10-10) 63-60 on Sunday evening. 24 personal fouls committed by CSKA 2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Aaron Parks (190-94, college: CS Northridge) who scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Igor Novikov (192-92) chipped in 14 points. Forward Daniil Sinegubov (203-96) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Viktor Lakhin (207-1) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Uralmash maintains ninth place with 10-10 record. CSKA 2 at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Uralmash's next round opponent will be higher ranked Burevestnik (#8) in Yaroslav and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CSKA 2 will play at home against Zenit-Farm (#16) and hope to win that game.
