Superleague top team - Vostok-65 (18-3) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked MBA Moscow (7-14) in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk 87-74. It was a great shooting night for Vostok-65 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. It was a quality performance for the former international forward Aleksandr Gudumak (203-93, agency: Alti Sport) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Daniil Axenov (183-95) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. Power forward Alexei Kuznetsov (205-84) came up with 16 points and 8 rebounds and forward Dmitry Korshakov (201-91) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for MBA Moscow in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vostok-65 have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Newly promoted Vostok-65 maintains first place with 18-3 record. Loser MBA Moscow dropped to the twelfth position with 14 games lost. They share it with CSKA 2. Vostok-65 will meet Ural Ekaterinburg (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. MBA Moscow will play against Novosybirsk (#5) and hope to secure a win.
