Very important is a road loss of second ranked C2S AEL (9-3) against fourth ranked Petrolina AEK (8-4) on Thursday night. Visiting C2S AEL was defeated by Petrolina AEK in a tough game in Larnaca 46-51. Petrolina AEK forced 28 C2S AEL turnovers and outrebounded them 48-34 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by C2S AEL helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American guard Erika Sisk (175-94, college: Mississippi) who scored that evening 23 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized British forward Chrystalla Merkouri (182-75) supported her with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Petrolina AEK's coach Michalis Michael allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 18 points and 22 rebounds by Brazilian forward Julia Torres (190-93, college: Missouri Western) did not help to save the game for C2S AEL. Guard Anthia Papadouri (168-93) added 10 points and 5 steals. Petrolina AEK moved-up to third place, which they share with Apoel. C2S AEL at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Petrolina AEK's next round opponent will be league's leader Keravnos in Nicosia and it will be for sure the game of the week. C2S AEL will play at home against ENAD and hope to win that game.
