Regular Season Round 19: Miskolc - BEAC Ujbuda 95-67
Date: February 16, 2019
Very predictable result when second ranked Miskolc (14-4) smashed at home 11th ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (4-14) 95-67. Miskolc dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to BEAC-Ujbuda's 28 and made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Miskolc forced 20 BEAC-Ujbuda turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by BEAC-Ujbuda's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (180-96, college: Maryland) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. International guard Dora Medgyessy (174-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 assists for the winners. Point guard Klaudia Papp (168-95) answered with 21 points and Croatian center Jovana Mandic (193-92, college: Nicholls St., agency: ProDep Management) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for BEAC-Ujbuda. Five Miskolc and four BEAC-Ujbuda players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Miskolc. They maintain second place with 14-4 record having four points less than leader Sopron Basket, which they share with Atomeromu. BEAC-Ujbuda lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Miskolc's next round opponent will be Vasas Akademia (#8) in Budapest which should be theoretically another easy game. BEAC-Ujbuda will play at home against Cegledi EKK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
