Regular Season Round 27: Kupol-Rodniki - CSKA 2 76-83

Rather predictable result in Izhevsk where twelfth ranked CSKA 2 (10-15) defeated 14th ranked Kupol-Rodniki (7-17) 83-76. CSKA 2 forced 20 Kupol-Rodniki turnovers. Strangely Kupol-Rodniki outrebounded CSKA 2 34-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for guard Alexander Gavrilov (193-96) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 5 assists. Aleksandr Ershov (197-0, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Forward Igor Samsonov (202-89) answered with 26 points and 6 rebounds and center Aleksey Karpeko (204-89) added 16 points in the effort for Kupol-Rodniki. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CSKA 2 maintains twelfth place with 10-15 record. Kupol-Rodniki at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. CSKA 2's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Moscow to the arena MBA Moscow.
