Regular Season Round 21: Atomeromu - ZTE KK 93-81

An interesting game took place in Paks where 6th ranked ZTE KK (11-10) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Atomeromu (10-11) 93-81 on Saturday. Atomeromu made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American Nick Faust (198-93, college: Long Beach St., agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward LaDontae Henton (198-92, college: Providence) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Atomeromu's coach Srecko Sekulovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Zsolt Szabo (204-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Bernard Thompson (191-93, college: FGCU) added 18 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Four Atomeromu and five ZTE KK players scored in double figures. Atomeromu moved-up to eighth place, which they share with PVSK-Veolia. ZTE KK lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with DEAC and KTE-Duna. Atomeromu will meet higher ranked DEAC (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ZTE KK will play against Sopron KC and hope to secure a win.
