There was no surprise in Sankt Petersburg where 16th ranked Zenit-Farm (2-26) was defeated by eighth ranked Uralmash (15-13) 76-61 on Thursday. Uralmash forced 19 Zenit-Farm turnovers. The former international center Alan Makiev (210-91) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Andrey Loginov (204-93) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Uralmash players scored in double figures. Swingman Ruslan Tumanov (195-91, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) produced 17 points and forward Alexander Stulenkov (205-92, agency: Alti Sport) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Uralmash moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Novosybirsk. Zenit-Farm lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Uralmash will face higher ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (#4) in Sankt Petersburg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zenit-Farm will play at home against Temp (#3) and hope to win that game.
