Regular Season Round 20: Keravnos - Apollon 86-75

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Strovolos. Second ranked Keravnos faced 4th ranked Apollon. Host Keravnos (15-5) defeated guests from Limassol (9-11) 86-75. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. Apollon was better in second period 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keravnos players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American forward Darral Willis (206-96, college: Wichita St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The other American import guard Josh Hagins (185-94, college: UALR, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Lithuanian guard Dovydas Redikas (193-92) replied with 24 points and 5 assists and American forward Cameron Naylor (201-94, college: Texas St.) added 13 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Apollon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Keravnos maintains second position with 15-5 record having just one point less than leader AEK Larnaca. Apollon lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 11 games lost. Keravnos will play against Etha (#5) in Nicosia in the next round. Apollon will play at home against Omonia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
