Very expected game when 10th ranked Parma-2 (5-32) was smashed by third ranked Lokomotiv-2 (27-10) in Krasnodar 86-63 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Lokomotiv-2. Parma-2 managed to win third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lokomotiv-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Parma-2's 22 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Lokomotiv-2 had a 36-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Kirill Popov (202-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Alexandr Shcherbenev (188-0) accounted for 13 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Forward Egor Chernyshev (196-99) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and guard Vadim Bondarenko (190-0) added 14 points respectively for Parma-2 in the defeat. Five Parma-2 players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Lokomotiv-2. They maintain third place with 27-10 record having just twelve point less than leader CSKA Junior. Parma-2 lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 32 games lost. Lokomotiv-2 will again meet at home Parma-2 (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Parma-2 will play against the league's leader CSKA Junior in Moscow and hope to secure a win.
