There was no surprise in Tobolsk where 12th ranked Dynamo STV (6-36) was defeated by eighth ranked Neftekhimik T. (21-21) 83-72 on Tuesday. Neftekhimik T. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center Artem Rusakov (208-91, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and forward Maksim Pylaev (196-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Neftekhimik T.'s coach Dmitriy Tarakanov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side center Ilya Luppo (200-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and forward Aleksey Karpov (205-98) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Neftekhimik T.. They maintain eighth place with 21-21 record. Dynamo STV lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 36 games lost. Neftekhimik T. will meet higher ranked Runa Basket (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dynamo STV will play against AltajBasket (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
