Second Stage Round 9: JP-Auto JKSE - Szolnok 68-85

An interesting game for Szolnok (23-10) which played road game in Jaszberenyi against 4th placed JP-Auto JKSE (18-15). Third ranked Szolnok had an easy win 85-68. Szolnok dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to JP-Auto JKSE's 26. They outrebounded JP-Auto JKSE 46-27 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Szolnok players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. International swingman David Vojvoda (196-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 assists for the winners and Serbian forward Nikola Malesevic (202-89, college: URI, agency: BeoExcell) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds. Five Szolnok players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Serbian forward Aleksa Brbaklic (195-95) with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third place with 23-10 record having just nine point less than leader KTE-Duna. JP-Auto JKSE lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Szolnok will play against league's leader Kormend on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. JP-Auto JKSE will play against PVSK-Veolia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
