Regular Season Round 4: Sopron Basket - BEAC Ujbuda 82-46

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Sopron Basket as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sopron Basket smashed 9th ranked BEAC-Ujbuda at home 82-46. Sopron Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to BEAC-Ujbuda's 28. Sopron Basket forced 20 BEAC-Ujbuda turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by BEAC-Ujbuda's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Tina Jovanovic (192-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian forward Aleksandra Crvendakic (188-96) who added 12 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five Sopron Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian center Abigail Fogg (196-94, college: S.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Beatrix Meresz (184-99) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sopron Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. BEAC-Ujbuda lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with three games lost. They share the position with PEAC-Pecs. BEAC-Ujbuda will play next round against NKE-Csata trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Budapest to the arena of NKE-Csata. Sopron Basket will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked UNI Gyor on the road.
