Regular Season Round 1: Omonia - Keravnos 76-84

Very significant was Keravnos' 84-76 road victory against Omonia. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Omonia won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Keravnos won last quarter 24-18. They also forced 20 Omonia turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Keravnos players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and American point guard Ahmaad Rorie (188-95, college: Montana) accounted for 22 points and 4 steals. Five Keravnos players scored in double figures. American point guard David Nichols (183-96, college: FSU) came up with 31 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and the other American import guard Nate Britt (185-94, college: UNC) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Omonia in the defeat. Keravnos will play against APOP in Paphou in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Omonia will play on the road against Apoel (#7) in Nicosia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
