Regular Season Round 2: Univ.Surgut - Uralmash 83-90

Very expected game in Surgut where Universitet-Yugra (0-2) was defeated by Uralmash (2-0) 90-83 on Monday. Uralmash made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Uralmash especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. American guard Aaron Parks (190-94, college: CSUN) scored 20 points and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Igor Novikov (192-92) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. Uralmash's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Andre Walker (185-96, college: Loyola, MD, agency: Interperformances) responded with 20 points and 9 assists and naturalized Belarusian power forward Valentin Iurchik (210-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five Uralmash and four Universitet-Yugra players scored in double figures. Uralmash will meet at home Spartak-Prim. (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Universitet-Yugra will play against Khimky-Podmoskoye (#13) in Khimki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
