AEL used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Nicosia 83-79. The hosts were already 15 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 28-17 Etha's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 83-79 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for AEL especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Etha was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Lithuanian guard Dovydas Redikas (193-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Tucker Haymond (198-94, college: W.Michigan) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four AEL players scored in double figures. American point guard Robert Davis-III (185-97, college: JCSU) replied with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Jeremy Smith (190-95, college: Nicholls St.) added 18 points in the effort for Etha. AEL will play against AEK Larnaca on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Etha will play against Keravnos (#1) to get more than just one victory in their record.
