Regular Season Round 2: Keravnos - Anagennises 64-46

The biggest surprise of round 2 in Division A took place in Nicosia where host Keravnos (1-0) beat Anagennises (1-1) 64-46 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Keravnos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Anagennises to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Keravnos forced 20 Anagennises turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Antria Pitsilidou (167-89) who scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. International center Sophia Theologou (190-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Four Keravnos players scored in double figures. American guard Tatiana Wayne (168-96, college: Columbus St.) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and power forward Styliana Velinova (188-0) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Anagennises will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest. Keravnos will try to continue on its current victory against InterCollege Etha in Nicosia.
