There was no surprise in Kazan where bottom-ranked Parma-2 (0-4) was defeated by fourth ranked Unics-2 (3-1) 89-77 on Monday. Parma-2 was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 31-17 charge of Unics-2, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Parma-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Guard Serafim Koroteev (190-0) fired 20 points and 9 assists for the winners. Forward Nikita Sokolov (197-99) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Grigori Prokofiev (198-0) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and forward Aleksandr Kurov (205-0) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unics-2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with N.Novgorod-2. Loser Parma-2 still closes the standings with four games lost. Unics-2 will face MBA-2 (#6) in Moscow in the next round.
