Regular Season Round 5: PVSK-Veolia - Kormend 94-80

The biggest surprise took place in Pecs where host PVSK-Veolia (4-0) beat league's leader Kormend (4-1) 94-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kormend. It was a key game for the top position in the league. PVSK-Veolia made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Christopher Smith (193-94, college: Utah St.) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Croatian forward Veljko Budimir (199-85) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) added 20 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. PVSK-Veolia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Kormend at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by PVSK-Veolia. Kormend will play next round against Szedeak trying to make it back to the top of the standings. PVSK-Veolia will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked DEAC in Debrecen.
