Regular Season Round 5: Enisey-2 - Avtodor-2 76-99

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Avtodor-2 (3-3) rolled over 11th ranked Enisey-2 (1-7) in Krasnoyarsk 99-76 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Avtodor-2. Enisey-2 was better in second period 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Avtodor-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Enisey-2's 32 and had 28 for 46 from the free-throw line, while Enisey-2 only scored eleven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Enisey-2 49-38 including 17 on the offensive glass. Enisey-2 was plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Aleksandr Petenev (197-0) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds. Center Vadim Novikovskii (207-0) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Avtodor-2 players scored in double figures. Forward Dmitriy Sonko (196-1) answered with 28 points and 7 rebounds and guard Yegor Bezrukov (185-0) added 15 points and 6 assists in the effort for Enisey-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Avtodor-2 have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with MBA-2. Enisey-2 lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. Avtodor-2 will face league's leader CSKA Junior in Moscow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Enisey-2 will play at home against Samara-2 (#3) and hope to win that game.
