Regular Season Round 5: CSKA Junior - Samara-2 87-68

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-ranked Samara-2's (4-2) road loss to leader CSKA Junior (8-0) in Moscow 68-87 on Tuesday. CSKA Junior forced 21 Samara-2 turnovers. Forward Vasiliy Posrednikov (200-0) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Alexander Maltsev (200-2) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Four CSKA Junior players scored in double figures. Forward Danila Chikarev (197-1) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and center Viktor Nesterov (202-99) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Samara-2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CSKA Junior have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Samara-2 at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. CSKA Junior will face Avtodor-2 (#5) in Saratov in the next round. Samara-2 will play on the road against Enisey-2 in Krasnoyarsk and hope to win that game.
