Regular Season Round 5: Rostov - Chevakata 85-65

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked BC Rostov as it allowed them to take a leadership position. BC Rostov smashed bottom-ranked Vologda-Chevakata at home 85-65. BC Rostov dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Vologda-Chevakata's 36 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. BC Rostov forced 29 Vologda-Chevakata turnovers. BC Rostov looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was center Iuliia Grabovskaia (189-1) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Power forward Ekaterina Gunchenko (183-98, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four BC Rostov players scored in double figures. BC Rostov's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Elizaveta Bratchikova (190-96) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 21 rebounds and center Irina Mukataeva (189-95) added 10 points and 17 rebounds respectively for the guests. BC Rostov (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Vologda-Chevakata at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with UMMC Junior. Vologda-Chevakata will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. BC Rostov will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Vologda-Chevakata at home.
