Regular Season Round 6: Kazanochka - Neftyanik 63-65

Round 6 most important game was a victory of Neftyanik over one of their biggest challengers Kazanochka 65-63 on Thursday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a good game for swingman Ekaterina Mashenkova (182-88) who led her team to a victory with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Center Sofya Kornyenko (187-98) contributed with 8 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Olga Lavrova (182-95) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Elizaveta Zaytseva (188-96) added 12 points in the effort for Kazanochka. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Neftyanik (5-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position behind leader Rostov, which they share with Dynamo-Farm and Nika. Kazanochka at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Stavropol. Neftyanik is looking forward to face Dynamo-Farm (#3) in Kursk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kazanochka will play at home against UMMC Junior and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
