Regular Season Round 7: PEAC-Pecs - NKE-Csata 75-80

The game in Pecs was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked NKE-Csata (4-1) played at the court of 7th ranked PEAC-Pecs (2-5). NKE-Csata managed to secure a 5-point victory 80-75 on Saturday. NKE-Csata looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Megan Gustafson (190-3, college: Iowa) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import Emma Cannon (190-89, college: UCF) helped adding 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four NKE-Csata players scored in double figures. At the losing side Senegalese point guard Bintou Dieme-Marizy (164-84) responded with 14 points and 7 assists and forward Nora Wentzel (178-1) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. PEAC-Pecs' coach Robert Meszlenyi tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for NKE-Csata. They maintain fifth place with 4-1 record. Loser PEAC-Pecs dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. NKE-Csata will face league's second-placed Miskolc on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PEAC-Pecs will play against Cegledi EKK (#6) and hope to win that game.
