The game was mostly controlled by N.Novgorod-2. MBA-2 was better in third quarter 18-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MBA-2 was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Ilya Sorokin (205-1, agency: Alti Sport) fired 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Alexander Chadov (201-1) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. N.Novgorod-2's coach Roman Gorelovskiy used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Maxim Kuzemkin (198-2) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Vladimir Laptev (183-99) added 13 points respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for N.Novgorod-2. They maintain second place with 6-2 record having six points less than leader CSKA Junior, which they share with Samara-2 and Khimki-2. Newly promoted MBA-2 dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. N.Novgorod-2 will face Enisey-2 (#11) in Krasnoyarsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MBA-2 will play on the road against Lokomotiv-2 (#7) in Krasnodar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
