Regular Season Round 6: Szolnok - Kaposvari 75-69

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Kaposvari (2-5) lost on the road to fifth ranked Szolnok (4-2) 75-69 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. American forward Demetris Morant (206-92, college: FGCU) notched 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import guard Kenneth Smith (190-93, college: Louisiana Tech) supported him with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Morant is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Szolnok players scored in double figures. Even 27 points, 5 assists and 5 steals by American point guard Rashun Davis (182-93, college: Radford) did not help to save the game for Kaposvari. Serbian guard Aleksandar Ponjavic (198-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 8 points and 8 rebounds. Szolnok have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Atomeromu. Loser Kaposvari dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Szolnok will meet Oroszlany (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Kaposvari will play against Atomeromu and hope to secure a win.
