Regular Season Round 4: ENAD - Anorthosis 34-73

Bottom-ranked ENAD (0-5) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to fifth ranked Anorthosis (3-1) 73-34 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Anorthosis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ENAD to just 5 points in third quarter and to 13 points in second half. Anorthosis dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to ENAD's 26. Anorthosis forced 31 ENAD turnovers and outrebounded them 48-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by ENAD's players. American forward Nike McClure (190-96, college: N.Mexico) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 23 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Marissa Pangalos (170-95) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Anorthosis' coach Aristos Aristou felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Amber Brown (178-95, college: Norfolk St.) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Charalambia Kalianou (170-99) added 4 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Anorthosis have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Anagennises. ENAD at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Anorthosis will meet at home Keravnos (#4) in the next round. ENAD will play against Phoenix and hopes to get finally their first victory.
