UMMC Junior can celebrate finally their first win this season after seven consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Kazanochka (5-3) on the road game in Kazan 68-61. Dayana Ernandes (187-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Aleksandra Ivanova (189-99) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. UMMC Junior's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Olga Lavrova (182-95) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and guard Yana Panevina (167-91, agency: LBM Management) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kazanochka. UMMC Junior (1-7) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with Chevakata. Kazanochka at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Stavropol. UMMC Junior will play against higher ranked MBA-2 (#9) in Moscow in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kazanochka will play on the road against Chernye Medv. (#8) in Sankt Petersburg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
