Regular Season Round 5: AEL - Keravnos 75-99

Undefeated leader Keravnos delivered the sixth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked AEL (1-3) 99-75 in Limassol. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. AEL was better in fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot 63.3 percent from the field. Keravnos shot the lights out from three nailing 20 long-distance shots on high 69.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American guard Josh Hagins (185-94, college: UALR, agency: Haylett Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Jake OBrien (206-89, college: Temple, agency: HMS) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Iraklis Pittakas (192-84) answered with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Lithuanian guard Dovydas Redikas (193-92) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for AEL. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keravnos (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. AEL at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Keravnos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. AEL will play on the road against Apoel (#5) in Nicosia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
