Regular Season Round 7: ZTE KK - PVSK-Veolia 86-89

The most exciting game of round 7 in the A Division took place in Zalaegerszeg. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 10th ranked ZTE KK (2-4) to leader PVSK-Veolia (6-0) 89-86 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. PVSK-Veolia made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for PVSK-Veolia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by ZTE KK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American power forward CJ Aiken (206-90, college: St.Joseph's) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Christopher Smith (193-94, college: Utah St.) helped adding 17 points. Five PVSK-Veolia players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Reginald Johnson (191-94, college: Hampton) responded with 24 points and Ukrainian Andriy Agafonov (208-86) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). PVSK-Veolia have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. ZTE KK lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with four games lost. PVSK-Veolia are looking forward to face Kaposvari (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ZTE KK will play against Szedeak and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
