Regular Season Round 7: Kaposvari - Atomeromu 58-85
Date: November 10, 2019
Very expected game when 11th ranked Kaposvari (2-6) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Atomeromu (5-2) 85-58 on Sunday. Atomeromu dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Kaposvari's 32. Atomeromu had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Atomeromu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Atomeromu made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward Orlando Coleman (196-92, college: Texas Southern) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 5 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Shannon Evans-II (185-94, college: ASU) helped adding 13 points and 6 assists. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international power forward Roland Hendlein (206-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Julian Norfleet (188-91, college: Mt.St.Mary's) scored 16 points. Kaposvari's coach Adam Fekete gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Atomeromu. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Kormend. Loser Kaposvari keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. Atomeromu will face Oroszlany (#9) in Oraszlany in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Kaposvari will play on the road against the league's leader PVSK-Veolia in Pecs and hope to win that game.
