The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-52. Apoel dominated on the defensive end, holding AEL to just 7 points in fourth quarter. American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: MTSU) notched 8 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the other American import guard Michael Cuffee (195-83, college: MTSU) supported him with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
