Regular Season Round 9: Samara-2 - Khimki-2 80-85

The game between third ranked Samara-2 (7-3) and fourth ranked Khimki-2 (7-3) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Samara-2 was defeated by Khimki-2 in a tough game in Samara 80-85. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Samara-2. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 23-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Khimki-2 made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Samara-2 turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Samara-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for forward Daniil Ziborov (206-99) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Ivan Pynko (195-0) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Guard Semyon Shevkoplias (185-0) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Oleg Cherepanov (199-99) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Samara-2. Five Khimki-2 and four Samara-2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Khimki-2 moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Samara-2. Khimki-2 is looking forward to face Avtodor-2 (#8) in Saratov in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Samara-2 will play at home against Parma-2 (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
