Regular Season Round 8: PVSK-Veolia - Kaposvari 82-99

Undefeated PVSK-Veolia (6-1) recorded its first loss in Pecs on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by eleventh ranked Kaposvari (3-6) 99-82. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of PVSK-Veolia. They outrebounded PVSK-Veolia 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. Kaposvari shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Aleksandar Ponjavic (198-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Rashun Davis (182-93, college: Radford) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. International guard Andras Rujak (189-88, agency: HMS) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Christopher Smith (193-94, college: Utah St.) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Five Kaposvari and four PVSK-Veolia players scored in double figures. Kaposvari maintains eleventh position with 3-6 record. PVSK-Veolia at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. Kaposvari are looking forward to face Szedeak (#13) in Szeged in the next round. PVSK-Veolia will play on the road against Oroszlany (#10) in Oraszlany and is hoping to win this game.
