Regular Season Round 8: Kormend - Alba 94-80
Date: November 16, 2019
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Kormend (6-2) defeated at home 6th ranked Alba (4-4) 94-80 on Saturday. Kormend looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 assists and the other American import forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) who added 17 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Serbian guard Marko Ljubicic (195-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) responded with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and international point guard Darrin Govens (185-88, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 17 points. Five Kormend and four Alba players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kormend maintains third position with 6-2 record having just two point less than leader Falco-Vulcano, which they share with Atomeromu. Loser Alba dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Kormend will meet bottom-ranked JP-Auto JKSE (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Alba will play against DEAC (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
