Regular Season Round 13: UMMC Junior - Stavropol 61-62

Twelfth-ranked UMMC Junior (1-12) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Stavropol (7-6) in Ekaterinburg on Wednesday. The visitors from Stavropol managed to secure only one-point victory 62-61. However their fans expected much easier game. Power forward Elena Fedotova (185-90) fired 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Nadezhda Matrosova (185-93) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Dayana Ernandes (187-99) produced 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and international point guard Viktoriia Zavialova (166-98) added 9 points respectively for lost side. UMMC Junior's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Stavropol moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kazanochka. UMMC Junior lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Stavropol will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UMMC Junior will play again against Stavropol (#6) and hope to win that game.
