Regular Season Round 12: Unics-2 - Lokomotiv-2 79-87

An interesting game took place in Kazan where higher ranked Unics-2 (8-6) was upset on its own court by tenth ranked Lokomotiv-2 (5-9) 87-79. Unics-2 was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 46-33 second half run of Lokomotiv-2. They also forced 24 Unics-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 42-25 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Unics-2 was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by forward Viktor Titov (199-1) who scored that evening 12 points and 9 rebounds and forward Yegor Sychkov (206-1) supported him with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds by guard Denis Barannikov (188-0) did not help to save the game for Unics-2. Center Semen Pinaev (208-99) added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lokomotiv-2 maintains tenth position with 5-9 record. Unics-2 at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Lokomotiv-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Unics-2 will play again at home against Lokomotiv-2 (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
