Regular Season Round 9: NKE-Csata - Atomeromu 71-66

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Atomeromu (6-3) against fifth ranked NKE-Csata (5-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Atomeromu was defeated by NKE-Csata in a tough game in Budapest 66-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Atomeromu. NKE-Csata made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Atomeromu was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American Emma Cannon (190-89, college: UCF) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and international Reka Lelik (178-99) chipped in 9 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Erica McCall (190-95, college: Stanford) with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian Ivana Dojkic (180-97, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Atomeromu's coach Zeljko Djokic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. NKE-Csata maintains fifth place with 5-2 record. Atomeromu at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with UNI Gyor. NKE-Csata will play against higher ranked UNI Gyor (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Atomeromu will play against Cegledi EKK and hopes to get back on the winning track.
