Regular Season Round 7: ENAD - Keravnos 37-76

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Nicosia: Keravnos (#3) and ENAD (#7). ENAD was crushed at home by 39 points 37-76 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. ENAD was better in fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ENAD to just 2 points in second quarter and to 11 points in first half. Keravnos held ENAD to an opponent 17.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Keravnos players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by ENAD's players. It was an exceptional evening for guard Revekka Christodoulou (170-2) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Power forward Stephanie Nicolas (188-89) accounted for 7 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Keravnos' coach Christos Stylianidis felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Maria Kalianou (183-98) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Charalambia Kalianou (170-99) added 6 points and 12 rebounds respectively for ENAD in the defeat. Defending champion maintains third place with 4-3 record having just three points less than leader C2S AEL, which they share with Anagennises. ENAD lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Keravnos will play against Anagennises (#4) in Limassol in the next round. ENAD will play on the road against InterCollege Etha in Nicosia and hopes to get finally their first victory.
