Regular Season Round 15: N.Novgorod-2 - Lokomotiv-2 77-72

Not a big story in a game in Nizhny Novgorod where 10th ranked Lokomotiv-2 (5-11) was defeated by third ranked N.Novgorod-2 (12-4) 77-72 on Monday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 5 points. N.Novgorod-2 forced 22 Lokomotiv-2 turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Mikhail Byzov (185-0) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Yegor Chepik (197-0) helped adding 15 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Yegor Sychkov (206-1) with 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Viktor Titov (199-1) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for N.Novgorod-2. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Samara-2. Lokomotiv-2 lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. N.Novgorod-2 will face Avtodor-2 (#7) in Saratov in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lokomotiv-2 will play at home against the league's leader CSKA Junior and hope to win that game.
