Regular Season Round 9: Keravnos - E.N. Paralimni 85-73

An interesting game for Keravnos (8-0) which hosted in Strovolos 4th placed E.N. Paralimni (4-4). Leader Keravnos managed to get a 12-point victory 85-73. It looked good early as E.N. Paralimni took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Keravnos had a 30-12 second period charge getting the lead and E.N. Paralimni was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-85. Keravnos players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The former international forward Nikolaos Stylianou (198-88, college: W.Texas A&M) stepped up and scored 27 points for the winners and American guard Josh Hagins (185-94, college: UALR, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Keravnos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Gerald Blackshear (206-94, college: Detroit Mercy) with 9 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import swingman Dalan Ancrum (198-96, college: W.Illinois) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Keravnos have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. E.N. Paralimni lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Apoel. Keravnos will play against bottom-ranked APOP (#9) in Paphou in the next round and are hoping to win another game. E.N. Paralimni will play at home against Apollon (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
