6th ranked MBA-2 (7-9) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (7-9) with the biggest margin this round 68-60. Spartak St.Petersburg made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Power forward Natalya Bukur (183-93) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and guard Victoria Mazur (164-92) accounted for 20 points. Four Spartak St.Petersburg players scored in double figures. Center Vera Kuchina (195-0) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward Pozdnyakova Anna (181-0) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for MBA-2 in the defeat. MBA-2's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Spartak St.Petersburg moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Stavropol and MBA-2. Spartak St.Petersburg will play against bottom-ranked UMMC Junior (#12) in Ekaterinburg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. MBA-2 will play on the road against Sparta&K-2 V (#11) in Vidnoye and hopes to get back on the winning track.
