Regular Season Round 11: MBA - Sparta&K MR 71-73

The most exciting game of round 11 in the PBL took place in Moscow. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th placed MBA (5-3) to fifth ranked Spartak Vidnoye (6-4) 73-71 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of MBA. Spartak Vidnoye dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to MBA's 36. The best player for the winners was American forward Morgan Bertsch (193, college: UC Davis, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The former international Kamilla Ogun (190-99, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Spartak Vidnoye's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international center Anastasia Logunova (192-90, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and international point guard Elizaveta Komarova (172-95, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Spartak Vidnoye have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Nadezhda O. MBA at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Spartak Vidnoye is looking forward to face league's leader Dynamo Kursk on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. MBA will play against Nadezhda Orenburg (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
