Important game to mention about took place in Izhevsk. Fifth ranked Kupol-Rodniki (9-5) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Vostok-65 (9-5) 84-82 in the game for the third place. Vostok-65 was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for center Ievgen Minchenko (213-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Power forward Anton Sayapin (204-86) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Kupol-Rodniki players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Alexandr Varnakov (185-92) with 27 points and 5 steals and American guard Jabril Durham (185-94, college: Arkansas) scored 14 points. Vostok-65's coach Eduard Sandler rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kupol-Rodniki moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Vostok-65. Kupol-Rodniki will play against CSKA 2 (#12) in Moscow in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vostok-65 will play on the road against the league's leader Spartak-Prim. (#1) in Vladivostok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
